WE PLAY FOR THE CAUSE
Man & Woman of the year is a charitable and ambitious fundraising campaign that works towards raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help blood cancer research. A group of motivated and dedicated individuals in communities across the United States compete in a 10 week campaign to win the title of Man & Woman of the Year.
"Through programs like Man & Woman of the Year, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has invested more than $1 billion since its inception in research to advance breakthrough therapies. In fact, nearly 40% of new cancer therapies approved by the FDA since 2000 were first approved for a blood cancer, and LLS helped advance most of them."
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission is to Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services. The LLS not only benefits blood cancer but many more types of cancers as well. Some FDA-approved blood cancer therapies are currently in clinical trials to treat brain cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, lupus nephritis, melanoma, multiple sclerosis, and prostate cancer.
